Sweet Little Man

After months of trying to figure out what's wrong with our poor guy's tummy, we finally found a solution! I took him to a new pediatrician on Friday, and after a long discussion about his symptoms, we came up with a great game plan. We got a prescription for Zantac, and are keeping him on Prevacid, as well (both reflux meds). After only one dose, he was a completely different kid! We've seen glimpses of his wonderful, happy personality, but he's consistently happy and content now! It's amazing!

We prayed for Aiden, day after day, and kept asking the Lord to give us wisdom and a solution to his pain. He truly answered our prayers with this new doctor, and medication that works!

Our happy little man...

The Hands of an Angel

Grace is quite the little artist. She loves anything to do with paint, crayons, markers, Play-Doh... so of course, when she looks at me with her gorgeous blue eyes and says, "Mama? Pay trayons?", how can I say no?!

She gets very concerned when a crayon breaks and immediately asks me to "Fix it, Mommy!" She's also quite addicted to her Mickey and Elmo coloring books.

Sidenote: don't you just love her little piggies?!

The Sounds of Silence

The windows are open, the house is quiet- save for the chirping of birds- and it smells like a pizzeria in here because of the bread Grace and I baked this morning. Sesame Street was over, the TV was off, Aiden was napping, and I said, "Gracie, what would you like to do?" She looked me in the eye and said, "Make bed wif Mommy!" How can you resist that?

We got out all the ingredients, and not surprisingly, she knew what everything was, including yeast. Our daughter is insanely smart!
We were dumping all of the ingredients into the bowl and she picked up the teaspoon, stuck it in the batter, and then put it up to her ear like a phone and said, "Hi, Papa!" She loves her Nana and Papa so much. It's the sweetest thing to see. It makes me tear up every time she talks about them!

After lunch, I put Aiden in his jumper and Grace was reading books while I cleaned up the kitchen.
The way Grace adores Aiden warms my heart. If you know her at all, you know that "Nunnles" (Snuggles, the blankie) is kinda like her second skin. For her to let anyone else use it is huge. Well, this is what she did today...

This past weekend, we discovered that Aiden is extremely sensitive to soy. I've cut it completely out of my diet and we've seen a HUGE improvement in his demeanor. He's content and happy. He was thoroughly enjoying his time in the jumper today.

After lunch was cleaned up, Grace decided to read to her baby. And put Mommy's chapstick on. And drink Mommy's water. I thought it was pretty adorable, but judge for yourself.

Some days are really tough, but I am so incredibly blessed to be able to stay home with these two precious kiddos and witness first-hand their awesome personalities.

Grace's Birthday

Grace's second birthday was on Friday. Joe and I got to bond in a very special way in preparation for it...putting together a kids' toy. Only 3 1/2 hours later, we got this...

She loves to cook just like Mommy, and she has fun having ME help HER, instead of the other way around. She pretends to turn on the water and then dump it into a pot, just like we do when she's helping me bake. Goes a little something like this:
"SHHHHH!"
"Dump one..."
"SHHHHH!"
"Dump two..."

She also helped me decorate cupcakes for her birthday party.
We took her out for a special birthday supper. She got a cheese quesadilla and rice...and about a million chips. She kept wanting to dip her chips and made the funniest face when she tasted the salsa. She ran her tongue over her teeth a bunch of times and scrunched up her nose. But yet, she proceeded to try it... again, and again, and again! Just goes to show you how determined she is!
And, just to make myself cry some more that my little girl is two...
She peacefully looked at us, and found her Daddy when she was just minutes old. She has filled our home with joy and laughter. Thank you for teaching us what child-like faith is, for always wanting to "pray to baby Dee-sus," for being an amazing big sister and for making us stop and take in the precious moments that will live in our memories forever. We love you so much, Gracie-pie! Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

Well, I've decided to jump on the blogwagon. I never remember to record the cute, funny, and heartwarming things that happen in our home, so hopefully, this will be easier for me to remember!

For instance, Aiden was having a major meltdown on Wednesday. I was singing every song I could think of, and I came to Amazing Grace. Every time I said the word 'grace,' our Grace would say, in a very excited voice, "that's ME!"

Or last week, when we were at Nana & Papa's house, every time we'd pray, she'd mention something specific about them. "Thank you for Papa play Play-Doh. Thank you for Nana read books." Brings tears to my eyes every time! I guess we're doing something right.
